Lighthouse Church is an international home for those who seek God’s presence.
As children of the Living God who first loved us, and guided by the Holy Spirit, we are called not only to be the light of Jesus in Tulum but also to disciple believers and empower them—according to their gifts—for the ministry of extending God’s love, grace and eternal life.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind.
Love your neighbor as yourself.
God the Father is the creator and sustainer of the universe. He made man in his own image so we could have fellowship with him.
Jesus the Son is the living Word of God. In and through him all things were created and are held together. Born of the Virgin Mary, he left heaven and became a man to redeem humankind.
The Holy Spirit has always existed. On the day of Pentecost he was given to the church in all his fullness. He is working in us to make us more Christ like. He empowers us to serve the Father. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit and that he provides spiritual gifts for all believers.
The Bible is the infallible Word of God. It is his only written witness to us. It is the final authority in matters of belief. It instructs and corrects and is our guide to living godly lives.
2 Peter 1:20-21 | 2 Timothy 3:16-17
Salvation is a free gift. It is not earned by good works; rather it is given by God’s grace. That grace was provided when Jesus died on the cross for our sins. Salvation happens when, believing Jesus to be God’s one and only Son, we repent of our sin, believing Jesus died to forgive us of those sins and that he rose again on the third day. Salvation is a one-time event and can never be lost.
Ephesians 2:8-9 | Romans 5:8 | Acts 3:19
John 3:16 | Luke 24:6 | John 10:28-29
We believe Jesus could return at any moment. At that time each individual’s relationship with Christ will determine his eternal destiny.
Acts 1:11 | Matthew 13:38-43 | Revelations 20:15
We grow as Christians though belief in and study of the Bible. Growth is enhanced when we submit to the Holy Spirit as our teacher. Furthermore, we believe in dedicating ourselves to attending worship and working to bring others to an understanding of who Jesus is.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 | John 14:26 | Hebrews 10:24-25
We believe the mission of the church is to make disciples. The church exists for the purpose of worship, ministry, evangelism, discipleship, and fellowship. The two ordinances of the church are baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Water baptism is by immersion and symbolizes the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. It is also the outward sign of God’s inner work already done in the believer’s life. It is the believer’s witness that he now belongs to Christ. The Lord’s Supper is done in remembrance and honor of the sacrifice of Christ until he returns.
Matthew 28:19-20 | Acts 2:42-47 | Acts 2:38,41
Romans 6:3-4 | 1 Corinthians 12:26
